Director, Vietnam, PwC Asia Pacific Customs and Trade
Prior to joining PwC, Son worked for the Vietnam customs department for over 12 years from 1997 to 2009. Son was a member of the post-clearance audit team where he acted as an expert on classification, inward processing relief and free trade agreements. As part of the e-customs team of Ho Chi Minh City Customs Department, he was responsible for designing and implementing customs documentation processes.
Son focuses on customs procedures, trade policies, classification, inward processing relief and free trade agreements.
Son worked at PwC from December 2009 to April 2017 as a senior customs manager. Son then had a year working in a customs role for an MNC in Singapore and then re-joined PwC in May 2018.
Son has been advising multinational companies on setting up and modifying business operations to optimise supply chain models and in resolving disputes in customs audits regarding valuation, classification and contract manufacturing. He has been in an advisory role for many leading companies in the luxury, consumer and industrial goods sectors.
While in Singapore, he was a member of the regional trade compliance team of a FT500 company and gained international experience by dealing with import-export issues in the APAC region.
